Introduction

The idea for this blog began with an intense desire to understand men more deeply. Although I have been told that I “get” men so well that they are often surprised themselves, as if I were somehow able to get inside their heads. An interesting idea. Especially since I often have trouble with what goes on inside my own head.

That said, years of studying men and what they need to become successful leaders has led me to desire a greater understanding of women. Not only how we are. But also how we could become. If we shared The Lord’s wisdom, that is.

The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for,

“Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?”

But we have the mind of Christ.
1 CORINTHIANS 2:15-16

Begin with Proverbial Wisdom

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction. PROVERBS 1:7

Listen, my sons [and daughters?], to a father’s instruction;
pay attention and gain understanding. PROVERBS 4:1

He who finds a wife finds what is good
and receives favor from the Lord. PROVERBS 18:22

My Doctoral Degree doesn’t help much. Except to let me know that I really don’t know as much as I probably should at this stage of my life and career.

As an experienced couples therapist, I can picture what each partner wants. In fact, it jumps off the proverbial page for me. Helping couples create that is a more difficult matter. Especially since I’ve been through my own share of painful relationships. The bottom line is: I don’t have all the answers. I’m not sure I have any answers. Thus, I am seeking wisdom. Just like you.
